using Windows mail in Vista

I just bought a new computer with Vista. I want to use Windows mail for one
of my email addresses... a live.com address. Every time I try to set up mail
for my address, it says all identities have been imported. But that's not
true. What do I do now...
AND why doesn't microsoft offer real help? Cost them too much????

Have you gone, in Windows Mail, to Tools, Accounts, Add, Email Account?

You will need to know the proper server names.

Note, however, that some web-based email systems can't be used with Windows
Mail. Free Hotmail accounts, for example, unless it is a very old one.
Only paid accounts can be used with offline clients such as Windows Mail or
Outlook Express.

You should check with your mail provider for such restrictions.

You can't use Windows Mail for live.com. Get Windows Live Mail (it's free).
