using template

I am using a template for my classroom presentation and everytime I change
the title on each slide to be centered and I save it, when I go back into the
presentation all the titles are back to the left - is there some defaults
that won't allow me to make this change

Your Master Slide must be centered, as well. View > Master > Slide Master
