using tcp/ip to map drives

Is it possible to use a tcp/ip command to map a drive to
another server. We would like to turn netbios off in our
enviorment but the enviorment we connect to still uses
it and for some reason when it is turned off we can't
connect to one of their drives. Thanks for your help
 
Just replace the netbios name with the IP address in the UNC path.
 
that is what I have been doing but it doesn't work

maybe you can help me though full mode windows 2000
enviorment and the server I am trying to connect to is in
a mixed mode enviorment and it a windows NT server would
it automatically try to use netbios for name
translation? I can connect to it when my netbios is
enabled using the IP but once I disable netbios it
doesn't recognize the network path. Thanks for your help.
