Using "Send" option from Word to create a new email message

W

I wanted to send a file to someone from Word, and the "send" option seemed to
be the best way, but upon clicking it, I was disappointed that I was not able
to copy and paste from other open email messages into the one I was trying to
create.
If I simply click "New message" twice in Outlook, I can copy and paste
between one of the new message windows and the other. But if I use "Send"
from Word to create a new message, it does not let me copy and paste (for
example the address I am sending to, or the subject) from another new
message; I just have to either type everything in, or start from Outlook to
create the new message, and attach the file in the regular way, without using
the Send feature in Word.

I have Outlook version 12.0.6316.5000
