using runas

I use a non-administrative account for normal Windows use,
but sometimes it's annoying to switch to Administrator just
to change a few things so i often use the "Execute as..."
function.
The thing that I'm still not able to do is to change
hardware settings and especially network settings (like
TCP/IP addresses, ...). I tried runas to start explorer,
but it doesn't do anything. I even started a console
terminal as Administrator, but the results were the same.
Can anybody give me any suggestion, please?

Stefano,

When you say console terminal do you mean cmd.exe? Have you tried launching
mmc.exe using runas and then loading the devmgmt.msc to modify hardware
settings? What network setting and hardware settings are you trying to
modify?
