Unable to access Explorer or folders using Runas

For example, I have some admin tools I keep in a folder just for
Administrative purposes. I don't want that folder available to just
anyone who sits down at the PC.

But when I'm on here as a PowerUser: suring the net, checking
newsgroups, etc., sometimes I find I want to do Admin stuff and not mess
around switching users. Rather than logon as Administrator, I'd much
prefer temporary access--a quick in and out on an Admin level account.

I thought the runas command was my solution. I'm used to running "su -"
in Linux and UNIX, and I'd like to do the same thing when I'm on XP.

Runas... works when it appears on the shortcut popup menus (right
click), but I have yet been able to run Windows Explorer from runas.

I tried: cmd /k runas /user:mycomputer\myname explorer.exe

Here is a workaround, launch Internet Explorer as the Administrator using
the runas command. Then in the Internet Explorer address bar type the path
to your files. You could also set file permissions on folder and files for
your user name/account so only you can access these files.

How to set, view, change, or remove file and folder permissions in Windows
XP
