using program at school how can i copy program for home

i am using this computer at school, i would like to know if there is anyway i
can copy the program here on a cd or something and download it to my mca at
home?

Check with your college bookstore - they often carry "Student" versions of
the programs at a very reduced cost. Word can not be extracted from a
computer to be installed on another computer - not only is it not possible,
it's also a violation of licensing and several other laws.

No, Microsoft Word (and the rest of MS Office) is commercial software, so
it's illegal to do anything like that. Besides the legal issue, there are
lots of things (registry entries and other bits & pieces) so you need the
installer, not just a copy of the program file, to get it to work.

You can buy the Office 2003 Student & Teacher Edition for around $100. You
can get the Microsoft Works Suite 2005, which includes Word 2002 (one
version back), for even less; look at

If your maximum price is free, download OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org.
It will read and write Word documents, and it has most of the features
you'll need as a student.
