I know this is previously answered, but can anyone steer me to the
instructions for using outlook express as the newsreader within Outlook
2000?.

I believe it involves using a link with a /nonews switch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go-> News

Or create a shortcut;
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /news

Tips of the month:
-Save Embedded Pictures in Their Original Format
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Works as well. The /news switch ensures OE will start in your default
newsgroup though.

The /news switch seems to bring me most directly to the newsreader only
functions.

Thanks for this insight!!

Interesting. I don't see any way to set the default newsgroup, however.

Default newsserver; rightclick the server and choose "Set as default
account"

That doesn't select a default _newsgroup_, as you claimed, however, only a
default news server, about which I knew already.
