I have Outlook 2003. I have to use Outlook Express as my newsreader.
Here's the problem:
If I make sure that Outlook Express is shown in Tools/Internet Options as my
newsreader program, then click on either GO-News in Outlook, or Mail-News in
Internet Explorer, it takes me to Outlook Express (although the top of the
screen says OUTLOOK NEWS and not Outlook Express). However, I get a pop-up
message that says "Outlook News is not your default newsreader-- would you
like to make it the default?"
If I click YES, the program opens normally; however, when I go back to
either WORD or EXPLORER, the GO-News option is no longer there (despite
having been manually added to the toolbar previously), nor is Outlook
Express shown as the newsreader program in Explorer. (Nothing is there.)
Since you can't select Outlook News, or Outlook, for that matter, as the
default newsreader in Explorer, I don't understand the problem.
I can work around it by answering NO to the default newsreader question, but
it still annoys me. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
