I want to use outlook for one email and express for another - after I setup
my other email address in outlook it moved all my contacts from express even
tho I said do not import - now I have no contacts in express - I only want
these contacts in express but when I choose import it duplicates them into
outlook and there are none in express

You have provided no information.
State clearly what you did. State versions. State how you configured each
address book.
Using two different email programs will keep you in conflict perpetually.
Not usually a good idea.

You need to specify more clearly your Outlook version. Outlook 2000 exists
in two completely different versions: Internet Mail Only or Corp/Workgroup.
If you don't know which you are using, look in Help | About.
Outlook would not and could not "remove" your Contacts from Outlook Express.
More likely you have misconfigured your sharing options.
Clarify where you want your Contacts stored and if you want them to remain
separate.

I have one pop 3 in outlook and a different one in express - my outlook is
office 2000 and express is my xp home
I want to be able to use my outlook for the one account and express for
the
other - otherwise I have to continually switch identities in express
