I suspect this problem has been posed many times, but I'm a brand new
user of Outlook, forced by the impending end of OE6 in the Windowws 7
environment. I'm attemptina a two step process:
A. Moving my emails and addresses from OE6 to Outlook 2003 on my
current WindowsXP computer.
B. Moving the relevant information to Outlook 2003 on my new Windows 7
computer.
Right now I'm in step A.
On the WinXP computer, I switched my default email program from OE6 to
Outlook 2003. I successfully imported the mail messages and folders.
But when I go through the procedures (see below) for the import of the
OE6 address book, the result is that “zero addresses were imported.
I also tried exporting from OE6 to the MS Exchange format. I get a
message that I must make Outlook the default email program. But
Outlook tells me that it already is.
Did I miss something?

Exporting Outlook Express contacts
Note The following scenarios assume that you have Outlook Express and
Outlook installed on the same computer
Import Outlook Express contacts into the Outlook Contacts folder
1. In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export.
2. Under Choose an action to perform, click Import Internet Mail and
Addresses.
3. Under Select the Internet Mail application to import from, click
Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x.
4. Clear the check boxes for Import Mail and Import Rules. Only the
Import Address Book check box should be selected.
5. Click Next.
6. Select one of the following:
Replace duplicates with items imported Existing data will be
overwritten with the information in the file that is being imported.
Allow duplicates to be created Existing data will not be overwritten,
and duplicates will be added to the current Outlook folder.
Do not import duplicate items Existing data will be kept, and the
duplicate information in the file will not be copied to the current
Outlook folder.
7. Click Finish.
8. After the export is complete, click Save in Inbox if you want a
message in your Inbox that logs what was exported, or click OK.
