Bought a new computer, running XP Home
Since it doesn't have Word, can i install and run my 'Office 2000' software on it, or will this cause problems?

Office 2000 runs just fine on Windows XP

Depends.

If your Office 2000 is a full retail product, no problem.
If your Office 2000 is an OEM product pre-installed on a prior computer,
then it is tied to that computer only.
If your Office 2000 is an upgrade version, you must have an qualifying
product either installed on your computer or have the qualifying product
installation CD to install Office 2000
