Using Newsgroup???

A

Al Catt

Where do I go to ask a question about how to use a
newsgroup? Is there a newsgroup for newsgroups? My
question is .... how do you read a reply to a post after
you have found what you need in a search. Sure, search
finds the question but I can't read the answers that were
posted to the sender? How do I do this????
Thanks in advance

Well, you probably won't see this response but you click the plus next to
the question to reveal the responses.

Thanks but there is no plus next to the question when you
search for a post. The search gives you the original
post but you cannot see any answers, if there are any. I
searched for files and settings transfer and rec'd about
10 previous postings but I can only view the original
post, not the post ant subsequent answers. Thought???

Ah, yes, the search feature doesn't but the search should turn up all posts
that meet the criteria and that should include any responses. Are you
saying you are not seeing responses in the searches you have performed?
Have you tried zeroing in on the post in the header list to see if there are
in fact responses to that specific question.

Al;
You have obviously read the answer to this one.
However instead of using the CDO as you did, use a newsreader as
explained in my signature below.
That will make it much easier for you.

What Newsreader are you using? Answers are usually grouped with the
message they respond to. When there are responses thereto, you will see
a plus sign (+). Click it to expand the grouping. [Jupiter, this is to
the original poster]. Either Outlook Express or Mozilla's Thunderbird
mail client (Which I am trying at this moment) will work well but are a
trifle different.
