Using Multiple browsers

Hi,

I'm wondering about consequences to having multiple
browsers (such as Opera, Netscape, Mozilla, etc) along
with IE on my machine.

Does anyone have any suggestions about this - whether
it's a good idea, if it will mess up my machine? If I do
end up installing them is there a particular order in
doing it or configurations that I should use.

Thanks,
mw

As far as I know and based on my personal experience, they all happily
coexist. There is no particular installation order.

mw,

I have Mozilla (because I want to) as well as IE (because I have to). No
problem, and necessary since there are still websites that don't test
for compatibility with browsers other than IE.

Just pick the one you want as your default browser and fire up the other
one as needed.

Cheers,

Steve

Okay, Thanks for the advice.

That's what I need to do - I've built an ASP.NET
application and I have to see that it's compatible with
multiple browsers, but I worry about having the browsers
on my machine cause problems.

Make sure that the various Mozilla browsers have separate profiles, e.g. one
for Mozilla, and one for Netscape 7.

If you want to run old versions of Netscape for testing -- e.g. NN3 or
NN4 -- you should note that it will try to take control of your PC, e.g. by
making itself the default browser.

I use Mozilla with no conflict with IE. However, there are some sites,
esp. Microsoft, that require the use of IE. They will indicate that your
browser is incompatible; then you swich over to IE and put the url back in.
