Using MS Word as Outlook Editor

Due to some recent problems, our IT group re-imaged my hardrive last week.
Before restoring the computer to its "original" state, my Outlook documents
were automatically edited by MS Word. This is no longer the case. I don't
get the underlined-red when I misspell a word. I'm not even sure that it's
using the same custom dictionary as MS Word.

How do I select (or set up) Word as the default editor for compositions in
Outlook?

Tools, options, mail format, tick the box.
Note that Word and Outlook need to be the same version.
