Using jpg2 files with FrontPage 2003

I want to use jpg2 images for their faster loading and increased clarity, but
FrontPage 2003 doesn't seem to recognize them. I copied and pasted the quilt
on http://www.kathymcneilquilts.com and the result was so much faster and
clearer...

How can I change the settings in FrontPage to recognize the jpg2 format?

If is not possible to force any application to recognize a format that it was not designed to
recognize, either directly or via a filter (converter file).
