using high definition TV as pc monitor

I have a high definition Sharp Aquos as my pc monitor and I need to know
what resolution would give the best quality video or picture?

Whatever the "native" resolution of the monitor is. Somewhere in the
instructions it should say what it is. Basically: the number of dot thingies
per inch on the physical screen.

Also, if it will take digital input that might give a sharper pic. On my Sony,
digital gives a sufficiently sharper pic that I wouldn't want to have to look at
in analog mode for any length of time.
