Using Firewall on XP

When I choose to use the firewall on XP I get a message
that says "The dependency Group failed to start" and the
box will not stay checked.

any ideas???

go>start\control panel\administrative tools\services and
scroll down to Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) /
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and double click on it.
Now click the dependencies tab and make a note of what
services this program needs and then set them all to
automatic or manual. www.blkviper.com has an excellent
site that tells you all about services and what to turn on
and off for various needs. You will have to click the +
signs to open the sub categories and the services found
there. Keep smiling.
