New to XP and can't find the answer in a google search.
When I open FIND (START-F), I get (from memory) an initial choice of
finding files by pictures, documents, Files and Folders. Until
yesterday, when I selected Files and Folders I would get a series of
boxes where I could type in the file name and location and do a search.
Now, when I select Files and Folders, nothing happens. I have to use
Documents.
How do I get Files and Folders to work?
AND, Any way to bypass the selections and go straight to Find Files and
Folders with a keystroke?

In the Search side bar take Change preferences, at the bottom; Change
Files and Folders search behaviour, select Advanced. Also at the
middle level probably turn off Indexing (only valuable if you have a big
collection of Office documents to search on basis of content). Then at
top level, Other search options select Files and Folders, and Advanced
options make sure the top three are checked. Then go do a search to
make sure the settings are remembered.
