using external drive for easy transfer

I had to have my hard drive replaced. Prior to having it done, I copied my
c: drive to my external drive. How do I use easy transfer to move the data
to my new hard drive?

Easy transfer can be used when you have two working computers: one with the
files and settings you wish to transfer, and one where you wish to transfer
it to! Either find a way to get the copied installation of windows to work,
and set up a network connection between that PC and the new one, or do the
transfer manually! I personally would recommend the last, because it's
easier...
