Using Document Map with Master/Sub Docs

Is there a way to get the Document Map to display the contents for all the
sub-docs when a Master Doc is open?

I have used Master/sub docs on a regular basis and have seldom encountered
any problems like the ones you note. Rather than suggesting that I not use
them, how about actually answering the question?

Assuming that all subdocuments are open, their headings should display in
the document map.

Having said that, I still agree with Graham's friendly warning.
