Using backup utility

I'd like to backup everything on my computer. I have tried to use XP's back
up utility (start/programs/accessories/system tools/backup) and run into a
problem when I specify that I want the data backed up to my CD (Drive "D").

When using the Wizard, it asks me to "choose a place to save the backup". I
did not use the default A: drive, but chose "browse" and selected the D
drive (my CD writer). Windows repeatedly asks me to insert a disk into Drive
D...even though I have done so.

I know that my CD (D drive works, and the CDs I'm using are fine too (I
can write to this drive using Easy CD Creator).

Any ideas would be helpful.

You can cheat it with a packet writing program like Roxio
Direct CD & Drag and Drop (comes with Easy CD Creator )
Or Nero InCD or Sonic DLA You then use a CD ( will not
Span cd's) or DVD's (4.7+ gb) to back up too.

The supplied backup is a tape oriented system and will not do a backup
to a CD. You can trick it to an extent by putting on a 'packet writing'
package for CD-RW (eg InCD) to make it look like a slow hard disk , but
it will not 'span' such disks so is of very limited use. Get a better
third party solution (eg BackUpMyPC from www.stompinc.com)
