using applications with terminal services

to all,

i'm having a strange problem that i need help with.

i have a pc that connects to our terminal server, and runs a microsoft
access database upon connection, which works ok.

but within that database i want to email things out of it, i have setup the
email account under the users profile.

but the problem i have is when i try to email out of my database the email
goes to the email account, but just sits in the outbox, because my database
is running through terminal services and not microsoft outlook.

what i want to know is; is there a way i can get outlook to launch in the
background, before my database launches?

if any one has any ideas on how i can resolve this issue i will be grateful.

If outlook is registered as the default mail client (via IE -> Tools ->
Internet Options -> Programs) launching a MAPI session will invoke Outlook
(and likely the Explorer Shell)

Another option is to use a program like mapisend:
