Using another application during the presentation

I have a Viso applicationand have been asked if it is possible to
access the running visio application during the powerpoint
presentation. I.e. the Visio application is already running, the
presentation is about using it and then the user clicks on a link and
the presentation hides and the visio application appears. When the user
minimizes the visio application the presentation then needs to
reappear. I tried to hide the presentation but it does not allow this.

Any ideas?

I had suggested that, but my user wanted it to be done automatically
from his power point presentation.

How about an action button hyperlinked to "other file" then. This will work
but there's an annoying (helpful!) message to get rid of. This can be done
by editting the registry or a little prog from office one.Minimise the visio
to get back.

Thanks that pointed me in a suitable direction. I went for a macro to
launch the visio application if not there or load the document into one
if it was running. I then put an action setting on a shape. A little
bit of fighting in order to get my application window to the
foreground , but works a treat.
