Patrick EVEN

I use the Stephen Lebans A2KReportSpecs.mde
to export to Word a graphic Access report.

In Nederland, it works very well.
But in France, treatment is excuted,
Word starts but nothing is displayed,
wihout error message.

My Access and Word version are french 2002 SP3
with french Windows 2000 Por SP4 2195.

Do you know the reason Why ?

Thanks for help,

Stephen,

I use A2KReportSpecs.mde and I supose it is not an A2K2 version.
But I observe the following :
- with regional parameter English or Nederland : it works perfectly.
- with regional parameter France, the process stoped
- after Word launch
- and before the word file choice

Is there a solution for French users ?

Best regards,

Patrick I have received Email from Paris if I remember correctly and
they were running the ReportUtilities without any problems.

I really am not interested in continuing this discussion until you are
working with the proper version of the tool. If you are using Access
2002 then you MUST use the A2002(A2K2) version of ReportUtilities.

Stephen,

I agree with you for using the A2KReportSpecs.mde.

So I have dowloaded the A2K2ReportUtilities.zip file.
I have also tested the A2K2ReportUtilitiesver2.mdb.
After having initialized the ReportSpecs reference to
the A2K2ReportSpecs.mde, I observe the
following results for regional parameters :
Français (Belgique) : ok
Français (Canada) : not ok
Français (France) : not ok
Français (Luxembourg) : not ok
Français (Monaco) : not ok
Français (Suisse) : ok

Difficult to explain why !

Patrick thank you very much for taking the time to document this
behaviour. I'm going to see if I can duplicate this behaviour here. It's
a probably a hard coded string for a System folder or such that is
causing the error.

It's one I have not heard of since my most excelllent error trapping has
utterly failed!!

Well I found the issue Patrick. When you switch to a regional setting
that uses a comma char instead of a decimal char the Str method no
longer functions. THis is clearly explained in the DOCS for the STR
command but I simply never read the DOCS unless I absoutely have
to!<grin>

I have not tested it thoroughly yet but the solution is to modify all
calls to Str to CStr instead. Do a search and replace in the
clsPrintToFit module. Let me know how you make out.
:)

Stephen,

Good news !
I replace all the "Str" call by "Cstr" as you suggest me
in the clsPrintToFit module and after some tests,
I can confirm you that it works perfectly for all my reports.

Thank you very much for your help
