Using a "User Profile" at login?

I will be moving a computer to a summer home where we have high speed cable access. The computer may be used by tenants or other members of my family. I want to set up a user profile for anyone who wants to use the internet, but not have access to other files on the machine. Is this the appropriate use of a "user profile" at login? Or should I just find a way to encrypt other programs (Quicken, email files, etc) and not worry about setting up another profile?

Yes. Use profiles.
Then set permissions and policy.
