Using a macro to insert a web-based file

When I use insert>object>from file>http://www.somewebaddress/someexcelfile.xls

Word happily inserts the web-based file into my document without protest.

When I record that series of actions into a macro, it fails and I get a
runtime error for that macro.

Any ideas?

The macro record is somewhat limited in what it can record. You'll need to
open up VBA and write the code yourself.
