using a bootable cd script to login as admin

We've deployed some XP computers in the field and we need
to make a software update. Is there a way to make a
bootable cd that will login to the XP installation as the
local administrator make the change and logoff?

We have a power user account on the computer but the
permissions will not let the power user overwrite the file
because it is owned by an administrator. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi

No, you can't use a bootable CD for this.

You might get something to work using a Runas wrapper utility or similar while
logged in with the power user account, take a look here:
