Using 2 nic's with private address's for VPN

D

Dan

We currently have a router running NAT on the LAN so the client PC's and the
W2K Server can go straight through the ADSL Router for internet access. We
would like to use VPN across the internet and understand that we would need
a second NIC dedicated for the VPN.

Can the second NIC have a Private address on the same subnet as the first
NIC ?

Thanks

Dan

if the server is behind the firewall, you don't need two NICs. quoted form

How to setup VPN on w2k server with one NIC

Symptoms: When attempting to create VPN on w2k server with one NIC, you may
receive "You have chosen the last available connection as the Internet
connection. A VPN server required that one connection be used as the private
network connection" if you select the NIC.

1. You should highlight No internet connection instead of the NIC or LAN
connection.
2. You may try "Manually configured server option".
