Using 2 moniters independantly

So this is what I have: A video card with 2 video outputs, VGA and DVI. I
have one moniter plugged int he VGA and the other one is in the DVI with an
adapter. I expanded my desktop to go across both screens, and that works
fine, but I want to know if there is a way to make them completely
independant from each other, so for instance, I can play a video game on one
screen, and have Mozilla or AIM on the other screen, WITHOUT having to
minimize the game. Basically, it's like a KVM but with 2 moniters instead of
2 computers, you know? So is there a way I can do this or am I dreaming?

I am aware of this, but it still makes me minimize one screen to use the
other one if I were playing a game. That's the problem, I want them striclty
independant.

That must be a flaw in the game itself. Or is the game set so that
it's display image overflows from one monitor onto the other? In that
case try setting the monitor to the next higher resolution and see if
that resolves the issue.
