Users can't logon

I have a Win 2000 Server SvPk4 and a NT 4.0 SvPk3
servers. Each have their own domain and we had to
reinstall Win2000 Server. Everyone logs on to the NT
server but their user data files were on the Win2000. I
re-typed the users and passwords on the Win2000 and
shared the 'user data' folder with permissions
to 'everyone'. Each of the folders in 'user data' are
shared w/permissions to admin and that user only. When
the users logon to the NT server, they cannot access any
of their files in their folders, access is denied. We
changed the admin passwords on both servers and some of
the workstations require us to log on using the old
password. Any help would be appreciated.

I established the trust but still not working. Must I
remove the old trust and then add back in for it to take?

Running dcdiag on the W2K domain controller looking for failed tests may be
helpful. I would also try to add the W2K domain users global group to the users
group on the NT4.0 domain to see if it would help. It might also help to enable
auditing of logon events on the server offering the shares, to see if any failed
logons are recorded for type 3 logon that may help determine the problem. ---
