Usernames creating problems

I have two usernames in my computer. One I set up myself and one that was
created some other way unknown to me. The one I set up for example is
[username] the other one is [username].[computername]. The problem is changes
to My Documents show up under [username].[comutername] and changes to my
Favorites ( as one example) show up under the [username]. My Desktop at the
top of the Explore window contains all the Icons that show on my desktop. But
it is neither desktop that I see under Documents and Settings. I do not
understand the differences between these three files. I have tried deleting
[username].[computername] and it will not let me. What would happen if I
copied the files from [username] and deleted that name? Then possibly I could
rename [username].[computername] back to just [username]?

Right-click My Documents|Properties|Target|Move

But be aware with any file move that if something happens during the move
then files may be lost. So backup before hand.

What you see on your desktop will be the sum of what ever is in;
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
\Documents and Settings\ [username]\Desktop
