Username and Password

Hi All,
I bought a Dell machine off my last company with Win2k
installed. When starts up after pressing Alt+Ctrl+Del and
enter [username and password] every works OK.

Until I changed the domain name to WORKGROUP to share
with my existing machines in the LAN. Now when boot up, it
does not recognise the password anymore.

Why? How can I bypass the[username and password ]? I am
not able to change the domain name back to the original
one as I can't start up Windows to do that. HELP!
..

Until you change it to the work group you were using a domain account to log
on with. Even though it was "logging on" the domain it used cached
credentials. When you move it to a workgroup you removed the domain
association and now the domain accounts no longer work. Now you need to use
local accounts. Ideally you would have viewed the local administrator
account for the logon information and reset the local admin password to one
that you know. This would have been the account you used to log on once the
domain association was removed.

You might check with the Admin at your last company to see if they know the
local admin username and password for that computer.
Otherwise search google for "password recovery Windows 2000".
