OS: Windows XP Home Edition, service pack 2
Router:
New Router: Linksys 802.11b, model #BEFW1174
Old Router: Linksys 802.11b, model #BEFSR41
DSL

Tried correcting what I think was a linksys driver issue by using system
restore to previous good configuration.

Problem History:
1. problems connecting to internet after installing linksys router noted
above.
2. restored system to last known good configuration before the new router
installed
3. encounter Dr. Watson errors below with new router still attached
4. removed new router tried login through DSL box only -> same errors
5. re-attached old router tried login -> same errors
6. removed all networking devices, attempted login -> same errors

Issue after system restore:
- After restore, try to login to black screen w/title box: logon to Windows
XP, username and password prompt displayed, user name is different than my
normal login; not a concern had computer person reconfigure while back:
1. ENTER XP password for normal username , click->LOGON
2. pulls up wallpaper with error message unerinit logon application has
encountered a problem and needs to close...
3. click->Don't send error report
4. error: Dr. Watson post mortem debugger has encountered an problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
5. without clicking anything another error message pops up: WMI has
encountered a problem and needs to close

I think my system is starting in safe mode. Since the reason for the
restore is network related - could this be causing the loop in errors.

Please help this is my life, I've used system restore on other computers and
never encountered anything like this. Please help, I'm all ears.

Thanks,
Courtney
