userinit.exe application error

Hi:

In the past few days, my system has an error message after boot up and
before login screen appears.

The error message box titled - userinit.exe Application Error. Additional
message says - The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).
Click OK to terminate.

Please help!!!

Correction - After login screen shows up and typed the password.

I read the article but have no clue.

I am using XP Pro and not trying to log into any network.

I am logged in as Administrator so...?

In any case, I will read more in details and see if I could understand.
