Userenv Event 1505 - Profile could not be loaded

Well, hi there.
A few days ago I encountered a problem during login on my newly
installed Windows XP box with Service Pack 2. A MessageBox showing me
that my Profile could not be loaded, but I will be logged on with a
default Profile for a system user.
2 Things were a bit weird about that:
- 1st of all, I'm not part of any Domain or something, its just my PC
here, and rather occasionally I connect my Laptop to move some files.
- 2nd Thing, that "default profile" looks exactly as I left my desktop
the day before on logoff, at least I couldn't find any differences yet.

My Windows Version is German, but I decided to post here, since
international help might be more beneficial than just asking in the
german part. I tried to translate the important parts of the Log
Message (it's listed as Application Log, not as System Log):
---------
Ereignistyp: Fehler (Event Type: Error)
Ereignisquelle: Userenv (Event Source: Userenv)
Ereigniskategorie: Keine (Event Category: None)
Ereigniskennung: 1505 (Event ID: 1505)
*snip* Date+Time
Benutzer: NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM (User: NT-AUTHORITY\System)
Computer: COMPUTER (Name of my PC, simply COMPUTER)
Beschreibung:
Das Profil konnte nicht erfolgreich geladen werden, aber Sie wurden mit
dem standardmäßigen Profil für das System angemeldet.

Details - Es wurde versucht, auf ein Token zuzugreifen, das nicht
vorhanden ist.
---------
Description:
Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the
default profile for the system.

DETAIL - Windows tried to load a non-existant Token.
---------

I hope thats enough Info for now, and hopefully I get some replys that
help me to get rid of that annoying MessageBox. Solutions preferred
that do not involve reinstalling the system, I just reinstalled it, and
almost finished reinstalling all my applications...

Interresting, I did a search on ms.com and didn't get any results
related to that (only one for the other problem involving insufficiant
Disk Space, related to quota iirc).

Anyway, I can strike out most of the reasons stated there:
*snip*
Possible causes include: insufficient computer memory, low disk space,
or corruption of the user profile and default profile, or the system's
inability to access the system profile for security reasons such as
incorrect permissions.
*snip*
I've got enough Memory and Disk Space, and I do have the correct
permissions set for my profile Folder (assuming its c:\documents and
settings\bhaal - tho for some reason, owner of that folder was
Administrators-Group, and not me as user)
But, it is quite likely that my user profile is corrupted. I'm going to
rename it later, to have the system recreate it (someone already
advised me to rename/remove UsrClass.* from local settings\application
data\microsoft\windows, seemingly didn't work)

Thank you for your answer so far, I'm going to try the ntuser.dat
suggestion from MS TechBase.

Respetuosamente
