User profiles

I'm working in a network environment using roaming
profiles. Troubleshooting some issues, I went to change
the profile type from Roaming to Local. When I got into
the Change Type dialogue box, the Roaming Profile option
was grayed out.

There are no Group Policies set at this time for control
over local/roaming profiles. A check verfied that all
setting were 'Not Configured' and changing them had no
affect. This is not an Active Directory environment,
either.

Does anyone happen to know the registry setting that
controls the Change Type options?

No but I can tell you that you can't copy a roaming profile to the server if you are logged in as that user. That is the reason your copy profile box was greyed out
