User profiles

I am in the process of moving user accounts and machine
accounts from Windows NT 4 to Windows 2000. After I move
the user accounts and machine accounts to the new domain,
I have the users login to the new domain and all of their
settings from the NT 4 domain are gone. Is there an easy
was to move the user profiles to the new domain? They all
use local profiles.

Basically NT stores info in c:\winnt\profiles while w2k
and XP use C:\Documents and Settings. Since no registry
data exists for the user and no profile exists, a new one
is created. You can copy the desktop and start menu over
with no problem. There are third party tools such as
Symantec Ghost that can move the user and I believe
Microsoft has some utilities as well.
