User profiles.

I work for a school district who currently has some new xp pro PC's comming in the system or are currently on the system and for obvious reasons we would rather not set the students up as administrators on these PCs now when we were running windows 2000 there was a user profile called power users which work well with the third party software that we have the students working on with out giving them admin rights . The problem we are encountering now is that some of the high school students have discovered that they have these admin rights on the xp machines and have been going change and down load happy. We tried seting them up as limited users but this prohibits them from getting into some of the software and actaul folders they need to for their classes. I was wondering if there was a way to create a power user in xp or if there was some other way to limit what the students can down load or even install on these pc's.

Thank you for your help

Windows XP Pro supports the Power User's group, as well, its just not an
obvious choice. You can change membership to the Power Users group via the
Local Users and Groups snap in (LUSRMGR.MSC).

Its already on your computer, as part of the Administrative tools. Just
click Start, Run and enter LUSRMGR.MSC. You can also get to it by right
clicking My Computer, selecting Manage, and going to Local Users and Groups.
