User profiles question

Pivert

Hi all,

currently I only use one profile ( ie allways logged as user with full
rights)

question 1 :

- if I log off from one user and on to another one, does it unload currently
loaded programs ( such as spyware guards, antivirus, ....) and a logon to
new user load the ones that the new user profile has set to load ( eg only
firewall ) ?
Or does this need a reboot ?

question 2 :

- what is the best profiles strategy to use the PC for
* common tasks usage ( everyday)
* maintenanec tasks
* new installs and upgrades

TIA

Depends on the application in question. Some are only setup/installed in
one users account. They were not made for a multi-user environment OR they
were and they were made to be used only by one user. You can put whatever
you want in an individual users startup.. Or you can use the All Users
startup or HKEY Local Machine RUN area for everyone.

I do not understand what you are asking.

In general, the recommendation has always been NOT to use the system all the
time as an administrator. Its safer (you are less likely to be ABLE to make
a fatal mistake) as a normal user and only use the administrator account
when you NEED to.
