Put the login script file in the netlogon share, and in the ADUC properties
for the login script, just put the file name - no path.

Actually it is a group policy question, since it can be solved that way.

You can create a policy and filter the permissions so that only that
particular user acount is granted apply and read group policy. Use the log
on script object.

I usually say that if you are using filtering you are doing it wrong, but
this is one of those blue moon uses that is appropriate.
Let me know if you need more concise links to help you out.

Good advice - although using ADUC works fine too, no?

Actually, yes and no. While it is functional, it isn't practical on a large
scale.
It is too easy to lose track of things if done at a user level.
I know if I had a call come in to place a script on the netlogon share and
assign it to a user I would bang that task out and promptly forget who the
user was.

Do this too many times and you get an evil mess.

I get a better global picture of what is going on with my network by using
policies. The GPMC will let me see the policies in effect, and quickly
modify or remove items.

I think I've got it - I'm still working out group policy (which is why I
lurk in here!) Thanks.

Yep....I'm used to fairly small networks so this isn't a problem, but I can
see that it would be.
