User Profile service failed

When i try to log in to vista beta2 I get the above message. I have tried a
repair install but the install states it connot find a problem with the
original install and finishes. I would do a clean install but I am unable to
delete certain folders and I am not in a position to reformat the install
drive due to having some XP software installed on the same partition. If I
do a full install the old vista installation is moved to a backup directory
not overwritten. Is there a solution out there.

I've had the same problem as well...haven't found a solution either. I got
it the moment I tried to make a new default profile by copying over one in
System--> Advanced.
