Given the virus issue you probably won't want to copy any of the old stuff
else you may end up propagating the issues again.

| Hi,
|
| I have a number of users on our small network, and they have their own
| profiles, which are local to their computers. Unfortunately, the system we

|
| I understand that will force me to add the users again to the directory,
| hence they'll have new profile. Can i just copy the profile to their new
one
| (in the System properties, Advanced tab, for XP), and it should work? Is

Dave,

Thanks for the alert! Just curios, if virus wasn't the issue, would that be
the way to do it?

I really don't have a clue. All you told us is that "the system we have has
some problems" If required you can use the Copy To function to mirror the
profile. Logon at least once after joining the domain. Then while logged on
as another user (with administrative rights) Control Panel|System|User
Profiles, select your userprofile, Copy To, Browse to
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\userprofile.domainname
Change "Permitted to use:" to "userprofile.domainname" OK.
