Neither of those will show up in the Task Manager. There are, of course,
some services that have an associated executable. The executable will
be visible in the Task Manager (and you might be able to kill it) but the
service won't.

I see what you mean. Some of hose would be run inside of Services.exe
or one of the svchost.exe.

Here is a complete list (ImageNames) as displayed in Windows Task Manager -
Processes tab (Limited User Account).

Image Name User Name
TimeZone.exe Ibex
egui.exe Ibex
MouseElf.exe Ibex
igfxpers.exe Ibex
MSASCui.exe Ibex
notepad.exe Ibex
explorer.exe Ibex
winlogon.exe SYSTEM
csrss.exe SYSTEM
taskmgr.exe Ibex
wlmail.exe Ibex
opera.exe Ibex

In Windows Task Manager - Processes tab (Admin Account) the Image Name/User
Name:

uphclean.exe SYSTEM is listed.

Does this mean that User Profile Hive CleanUp utility is running in both
Admin *and* Limited User accounts?

I would have thought that uphclean.exe would show in Windows Task Manager -
Processes tab (Limited User Account) as well.

Either that is an antiquated NT Resource Kit command line utility or
it's a third party utility, in any case it isn't a standard Windows XP
service and it isn't really relevant to the point that Pegasus made.

Why would you need to have this running on the machine?

It is, John. But it is definitely not showing in windows Task Manager.

this is a really sad, frustrating thread to reckoning.
Unless I missed it, no one has bothered to remark upon the various features
of Task Manager.

For example, let's consider the analogy of someone gone missing. You see,
JoeSchmoe has been stuffed mostly into the 'trunk' of my vehicle. JaneDoe has
been told that JoeSchmoe will be found in my vehicle, but when she peers
inside cabin, the subject is nowhere to be found! But alas-- indeed, he is
there, is he not? Had she opened the trunk, she could have laid claim to
finding him there, as told.

Now that I've got your attention, has the Enquiring User surveyed the
various tabs of Windows Task Manager, to confirm that a sign of his/her
elusive bin is indeed not present? My personal preference is to click the
Applications tab, and set that view to 'Large Icons', subsequently dragging
the size of the WTM window, leaving it broad and tall (e.g. the TaskManager
is more friendly to me when resized to about a 1024x768-sized window, under a
1280 res). Under this configuration, when I click the 'Processes' tab, it is
quite obvious to me that I am no longer viewing the current Applications,
since I see no obnoxiously large icons, but only a long list of running
processes, many unfamiliar names which would make for an excellent list of
vocabulary words for the novices here.
