I keep getting errors in my event log when shutting down
Vista Business referring to the fact that the Hive
Cleanup Service does not run in Versions beyond XP.

Unfortunately, I was not aware that the service should
have been removed before upgrading to Vista from XP.

I tried to Uninstall UPHC from the Add/Remove, but it
failed and the service is still in "Services" and the
file is still in C:\windows\uphclean. There are also
several registry entries referring to uphclean.exe

I have disabled the UPHClean Service, but how do I
remove it from Vista?

Thanks

Disabling it is fine. There is no need to remove it. It is quite
small.

Thanks,

It appears if you run uphclean -remove from a command
window it helps.
