I am using Windows 2000 on my server, with 15 clients on Windows XP on a domain. The problem I'm having is, all the users are simply users, and I am the administrator. I've customised the security policies etc, mainly using the high security workstation template, however, what I don't want is security so tight my users can't Update Windows or install client software on their own machines

How do I overcome this and can I overcome this without granting the users greater administrative power

Any help is greatly appreciated

Try adding their domain accounts to the local Power Users group.

Well, I've added Joe Bloggs domain login (jbloggs) to local power users by logging in as administrator, going to admistrive tools, managing the computer and adding jbloggs to the power users, this hasn't worked, it is still insisting joe bloggs need to be an administrator to run windows update.
