hello,
i would like to know if there is a way to get pass the user
password...see i have two accouts in my win XP, and mine,
the admin's one, has a password, but i believe one of my
son's foud a way to bypass it, without discovering it,
because i've changed it several times, and still, when i
get home i find my account opened...so, does anyone know if
i can get any program that adds a second password, or
anything that can help me keeping my account
private....thanks...

Have you tried setting up a seperate user profile? Go to
Start, Control Panel, click on mail icon. Add a
different profile there.

I'm pretty sure there are no ways of 'bypassing' the password if one is
defined.

There ARE however ways of putting a new password onto the account (but then
you wouldn't be able to get in yourself, because you don't know the new
one).
There are also many ways of discovering (eventually revealing/recalculating)
the existing password and using it.
So he could be running such a program, dump the local userdatabase (SAM) and
have the program try and reveal the password for your account (by disctionay
attack or possibly brute force)
He could also be using some sort of hardware (or possibly software)
keylogger, collecting the keystrokes you type when changing the password.
Just some possibilities.
In any case, if your account has password xyz and you logoff your session he
has to know it is xyz in order to get logged on with that account.
Can't recall if Fast User Switching leaves the account as 'opened' (as you
state), because I don't like that option, so I've disabled it.

Maybe you want to start thinking about making his account a 'limited' one,
thus revoking some of the functionality he now has.
Otherwise a good parental talking too could also go a long way, maybe PC is
'off limits' for a while. :-))
