User Not Able to Login

There are 2 users on this PC. When you click on one of them, XP will act
like it is logging the user in. The desktop will appear for a few seconds
and then XP will log the user off. What is causing this and how can it be
resolved?

I am having the same problem. I got it after I updated
both Norton Anti-Virus and went to WindowsUpdate. Not
sure if it's a virus but I can do anything.

When I boot in SafeMode, it takes me to the same place.

any help much appreciated. I'm having to use my MAC right
now that has been turned off for quite some time!
