I gave my XP Pro desktop to my grandson. I removed my User Name and entered
his User Name in the User Accounts as Computer Administrator.
When the desktop starts up my name appears on the Welcome Screen. I can
change it to his name. I want to delete my profile from the User Accounts
but my name is not shown in the User Accounts.
How can I remove my name from the Welcome Screen, find it in the User
Accounts and delete my name?

Create a new user account.
With admin rights.
Reboot.
Logon as the new user.
Delete any other users.

Try this:

Will my name appear in the User Accounts after I Create a new User Account
with Administrative Rights? The name is missing now from the User Account.

Also - depending on *how* you 'renamed' the account before - it may be a
different name on the "Welcome Screen" than in other places. In other
words - you may be seeing the account and not know it in a given list.

Start button --> RUN --> Type in:
control userpasswords2
--> Click OK.

Look through the list of users under the "Users" tab. See what you are
looking for there?

Select the "Advanced" tab, click on the "Advanced" button in the "Advanced
user management" section. Select "Users" on the left side. On the right
side, do you see the "Name" and "Full Name" combination you are looking for?

I was able to remove my name from the Welcome Screen following the steps you
gave me. Somehow my grandson name was combined into my profile including my
name. There were two entries for his name one as the administrator and the
other as the administrator and debugged.
