user name?

Hello - I just set up my email acct. with the help of charter.net - I
entered the incoming server information and the outgoing server information.
For security reasons, they ask for your user name & password. Would my user
name be my email address (although I tried that, along with a few other
things, and it didn't work). I'd appreciate your help! Thank you...

Have you set up under Windows Mail?

Or is that from a different Charter?

Have you tried entering your user name without any CAPITAL LETTERS?
Have you tried entering it with and without adding the part of your email
address starting with @?

Does your connection to the charter.net servers go through any other
internet provider's equipment before it gets to charter.net? If so, such
connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers,
and occasionally another port or two is also blocked.

You might wait a while after each failed attempt. Some internet
disable even the correct password for a few minutes after receiving
an incorrect password, to cause trouble for people trying to guess
your password.

Does your password have any CAPITAL LETTERS? If so, you
might try changing it so it doesn't.
